Dear Jimmy,

I'm writing to you from my new home in Upper Canada. The trip here was absolute hell. It took a month of sitting in a little room with about 500 other people. Can you imagine that? Half of the people died and were thrown overboard. I consider myself extremely lucky because I'm healthy.
I am starting my work on my farm. I got to tell you, it's not easy. Clearing land here is the hardest thing I have ever done! I'm living alone with about 20 miles of space between me and my neighbours.
I hope that I will clear my land soon so I can plant my crops because I need money. If I don't I'll have to become a blacksmith and I really don't want to. One thing I truly hate here is the Family Compact! They are a pack of rich, snobby people who do nothing but spit on us, hard-working farmers.
I'll write to you soon!

Sincerely, Andrey
